There’s no more area football left for the 2024 season. That makes me sad.
I’m going to have more thoughts on the state quarterfinals in my Sunday recap post, but first I wanted to share a historical note about Brock’s 12-10 triple-overtime victory over Graham.
I had a previous engagement that kept me from covering the 4A Division II state quarterfinal, but I watched the ending with multiple people on a livestream in a packed ballroom.
What we watched was the second-longest overtime game in area playoff history. It was also the first area playoff game to be decided by two-point conversions (the rule changed just a couple years ago).
