When most people think about Graham football, they think about the embarrassment of riches the Young County school has had at quarterback.

I mentioned this before the 2024 season, but they’ve had only seven quarterbacks start just about every game since 2006. One (Case McCoy 2006-09) played at the University of Texas, while another (Tucker Horn 2016-17) had an impressive run at the D-III level.

Ty Thompson just finished up an outstanding four-year career and is playing at the next level. Landry Turner played for a bit at Hardin-Simmons. And Ben Davis could have garnered some D-I or D-II attention if he’d been 3-4 inches taller. You’ll never convince me otherwise.

But if you’d asked area football fans 20 years ago what came to their mind when talking about Graham football, the answer would have been entirely different.
